It’s super annoying when people talk to me just to ask me the same uninteresting, awkward questions I get asked numerous times a day, so here, let me sum up my life for you tumblrworld:
- I graduated college two weeks ago, no I have no job plans, so fuck off.
- Continuing from my previous point, no I do not want your help finding a job. I have not begun to look because honestly, I plan on seeing how long I can sit on the beach and online shop before I a) get bored or b) drain my bank account.
- For the next month I’m living in New York floating between my step-dads in Manhattan, my dads in Long Island and the beach house. After this month, I will be homeless, yay!
- The wedding is June 28, so yes, soon. And yes, everything is planned. But no, I am not excited. The thought of it approaching just make me feel queesy and like vomitting.
- No, I still do not have a phone. Someone stole it during finals week and I have been distraught since. The phone situation was supposed to get fixed while I was in Portugal, but alas, I have been home exactly a week and still no phone.
I think this is sufficient for the first round of Hilary Smithe FAQ’s.
The CFDA’s turns 50 this year and in celebration the Museum at FIT in New York City is holding an exhibit in its honor. Impact: 50 Years of the CFDA opens today with over 100 different garments and accessories from the designers who have had the privelage of being a member of the CFDA.
The exhibit is open until April 20, 2012 and if you can’t make it to NYC you can always by the book created for the exhibit here.

I haven’t been to this yet but I highly recommend it. Museum at FIT always has the best (and free!) exhibits.

New York City’s Lost Subways: A Ghost System Beneath the Streets
The New York City subway system has 842 miles of track, but WNYC reveals “there’s even more to it than riders see: dozens of tunnels and platforms that were either abandoned or were built but never used.” This ghost system beneath the streets “reveals how the city’s transit ambitions have been both realized and thwarted.”
